My website will not allow me to navitage to the sitemap.xml when I type the path in the url , it says 404, i.e. https://hotel39jamaica.com/sitemap.xml

I can bring up robot.txt .

https://hotel39jamaica.com/robot.txt

I renamed sitemap.xml to sitemap.txt but it will not read it either

 https://hotel39jamaica.com/sitemap.txt

I am wondering if somewhere admin tools in the settings admin tool is blocking these files.

Hello,

can you please try to replace your current .htaccess file with Joomla default one?

Do you still have the same issue?

Okay this works. Do I have to let the joomla one remain?

Hello,

it means that the source of the error is the .htaccess file. Can you please try to add the sitemap.xml file to the list of the exclusions inside the Htaccess Maker?
